Management Team

Mr Kevin Khoo is the Senior Vice President, Group Chief Operating Officer of Unisem Group, a position he has held since 1 March 2023.  Mr Khoo holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma, United States of America.

Mr Khoo has over 30 years of experience in the semiconductor assembly and test industry.  He joined the Company in 1992 as Marketing and Sales Engineer.  In 2007 he joined Unisem Chengdu as Senior Manager to lead the marketing team and was promoted to Vice President of Business Development in 2013 with added responsibility of new product introduction (NPI) function.  He was the Senior Vice President, Group Sales, responsible for worldwide sale and marketing of Unisem Group since December 2020.  Prior to joining Unisem Chengdu in 2007, he was the Senior Package Development Manager in AIC Semiconductor in Kulim, Malaysia for a period of 3 years. 

Mr. Liew Kok Chuen is the Vice President, Leadless and Test Operations of Unisem Ipoh, a position he has held since 2022. In this capacity, he is responsible and oversees all manufacturing operations of Unisem Ipoh. Mr Liew holds a Degree in Social Science from the National University of Malaysia.

Mr Liew carries with him over 29 years of experience in the semiconductor assembly and test industry. His journey with the Company commenced in 2003 when he joined as a Manufacturing Manager. Mr Liew assumed the leadership and responsibility of the leadless operations in Unisem Ipoh since 2010. Due to his exemplary performance and dedication, he was promoted to the position of Vice President, Leadless Operations in 2022. Prior to his tenure at the Company, Mr Liew was with Carsem (M) Sdn Bhd where he served as a Production Superintendent for 9 years from 1994 to 2003 with his last position as Senior Section Manager.

Mr. Quek Suan Hong is the Chief Operation Officer of Unisem Chengdu Operations, a position which he has held since 2011. He has over 38 years experience in the semiconductor assembly and test industry. Mr. Quek joined Unisem Chengdu in Nov 2005 as Senior Operations Manager and was promoted to plant COO in 2011. Prior to joining Unisem, he was with Motorola (M) Sdn Bhd from 1974 to 2002 where he held various positions from production supervisor to Senior Operations Manager.

Mr. Quek holds a Diploma in Automotive Engineering in Malaysia and passed the certification from Institute of the Motor industry (London).

Mr. Chai Chan Wah is the General Manager of UAT, a position which he has held since 2014. Mr. Chai joined Unisem in 1993 as Engineering Section Head and held the position of Vice President of Corporate Technology Development prior to joining UAT. He began his career as process engineer in Carsem in 1988 to 1993. Mr. Chai brings with him more than 25 years of experience in semiconductor assembly & test industry.

Mr. Chai holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (2^nd Class Upper) in Physics from National University of Malaysia.

Mr. Tham Eng Huak is the Vice President, Group Finance since 1 October 2013. He carries with him over 27 year experience in the semiconductor industry assembly and test industry. Mr. Tham joined the company in 1991 and is responsible for the group financial and accounting reporting and activities. Prior to joining the Company, he was with Carsem (M) Sdn. Bhd. for 6 years from 1986 to 1991.

He holds a Diploma in Accounting and a Diploma in Costing from London Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
